A selection of Scottish War History DVDs detailing the Wars Of Scottish Independence when William Wallace and Andrew de Moray initially led the resistance against English rule with their triumphant victory at the Battle Of Stirling Bridge 1297. The mantle passed to Robert The Bruce who defeated and routed the English at the Battle Of Bannockburn in 1314. Hostilities continued through the Middle Ages with the Battle of Flodden (also known as the Battle Of Branxton) in 1513 which ended in a bloody defeat for the Scots. Time moves forward to the 18th century when the Battle Of Culloden in 1746 was the final clash between the French supported Jacobites and the Hanoverian British government. The Jacobite cause of restoring the House of Stuart to the throne of Great Britain was decisively defeated, and this resulted in a Hanoverian attempt to erase the Scottish culture with new laws passed to attack the Highlander's clan system, and also the outlawing of Highland dress.
